El Sr. El Aissami es un venezolano descendiente de sirios, quien antes de ser nombrado Ministro del Interior y Justicia, ocupaba el cargo de Vice Ministro de Seguridad Pública.  Su padre, Carlos Aissami, es el jefe de la sección venezolana del partido político Baath de Irak. Antes de la invasión a Irak, sostuvo una conferencia de prensa en la que se denominó a sí mismo un Talibán, y se refirió a Osama Bin Laden, como «el gran Mujahedeen, el Sheik Osama bin Laden». El tío abuelo de Shibli El Aissami era un ideólogo sobresaliente y fue el asistente al Secretario General del partido en Bagdad durante el régimen de Saddam Hussein.

Mr. El – Aissami is a Venezuelan national of Syrian descent who, before becoming Minster of Interior and Justice, occupied the position of Deputy Interior Minister for Public Security. His father, Carlos Aissami, is the head of the Venezuelan branch of the Iraqi Baath political party. Before the invasion of Iraq, he held a press conference in which he described himself as a Taliban and called Osama Bin Laden, “the great Mujahedeen, Sheik Osama bin Laden.” Tarek’s great-uncle Shibli el-Aissami was a prominent ideologist and assistant to the party’s secretary general in Baghdad during the Saddam Hussein regime.

Se averiguó que en el 2003, El Aissami fue encargado, junto con otro líder estudiantil radical de la Universidad de los Andes en la ciudad de Mérida, Hugo Cabezas, de la Dirección de la Onidex (Oficina Nacional de Identificación y Extranjería). El nombramiento resultó sorprendente precisamente debido a sus conexiones con los movimientos guerrilleros en la Universidad de Los Andes (ULA). Han surgido evidencias de que durante ese tiempo, ambos emitieron ilegalmente pasaportes venezolanos y documentos de identidad a miembros del Hezbollah y del Hamas. El Sr. Cabezas es ahora Gobernador del Estado Trujillo electo en las elecciones que se celebraron el 23 de noviembre del 2008, y es miembro fundador de Utopía, un grupo armado que tiene nexos con el Frente de Liberación Bolivariana.

It was discovered that in 2003 El Aissami was appointed, along with another radical student leader from the University of the Andes in the city of Mérida, Hugo Cabezas, to head the country’s passport and naturalization service, the Onidex (Identification and Immigration Office). The choice came as a surprise precisely because of their ties with guerrilla movements at Universidad de Los Andes (ULA). Evidence has surfaced that during this time both men illegally issued Venezuelan passports and identity documents to members of Hezbollah and Hamas. Mr. Cabezas is now the government candidate for governor of the Andean state of Trujillo in elections due to be held on November 23, 2008 and is a founding member of Utopia, an armed group that has connections with the Bolivarian Liberation Front.

Siendo un líder estudiantil de la ULA, El Aissami tenía el control político de los dormitorios de la ULA, que se utilizaban para esconder vehículos robados y el tráfico de drogas, y se las ingeniaban para esconder a guerrilleros en los dormitorios. Según esos informes, de las 1.122 personas que habitaban las residencias universitarias en un momento dado, sólo 387 eran estudiantes y más de 500 no tenían nada que ver con la universidad.

While a student leader at ULA, Aissami had political control of the university residences (dorms), which were used to hide stolen vehicles and conduct drug deals and had managed to get members of the guerillas into the dorms. According to reports, of the 1,122 people living in one of the University’s residences, only 387 were active students and more than 600 had nothing to do with the university.

La periodista venezolana Patricia Poleo, quién se dedica mayormente a la investigación, declara que el Sr. Aissami junto con otros afiliados al Hezbollah, tales como Gahzi Nasserddine, actualmente el Encargado de Negocios en la Embajada de Venezuela en Damasco, y su hermano, Ghasan Atef Salameh Nasserddi, están encargados de reclutar árabes venezolanos afiliados al Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela, PSUV, el Partido Socialista de Chávez, para ser enviados al Sur del Líbano para recibir entrenamiento de combate en los campos del Hezbollah, y así prepararlos para la guerra asimétrica contra los Estados Unidos de Norte América. Una vez de regreso en Venezuela son recibidos por los miembros radicales del Partido Socialista de Venezuela afiliado a la UNEFA (la universidad regentada por las Fuerzas Armadas) y la Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela, para continuar su entrenamiento en armamento, explosivos y municiones. Los campos de entrenamiento están ubicados en los Estados Monagas, Miranda, Falcón, Yaracuy y Trujillo, y específicamente en El Páramo de Tuñame, Yumare, Maturín, Los Teques, El Jarillo, Churuguara y Sierra de San Luis. Estos grupos e individuos son supervisados por la Organización del Hezbollah en Venezuela, junto con los iraquíes de Al-Qaeda que viven actualmente en el país, y por los del Frente Democrático de Palestina, encabezados por Salid Ahmed Rahman, cuyas oficinas están ubicadas en el Parque Central de Caracas.

Venezuelan investigative journalist, Patricia Poleo, who escaped Venezuela and currently lives in Miami says that Mr. Aissami together with others affiliated with Hezbollah, such as Lebanon-born Gahzi Nasserddine, currently the Business Liaison at the Venezuelan embassy in Damascus, and his brother, Ghasan Atef Salameh Nasserddi, are in charge of recruiting young Venezuelan Arabs affiliated with the ‘Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela’ or PSUV (Chavez’s Socialist Party), to be sent to South Lebanon for combat training in Hezbollah camps preparing them for ‘asymmetrical war’ against the United States. Once back in Venezuela, they are greeted by radical members of the Venezuelan Socialist Party affiliated with UNEFA (the university run by the Armed Forces) and the Universidad Bolivariana de Venezuela (Venezuelan Bolivarian University) and continue with their training in firearms, explosives and munitions. The training camps are located in the states of Monagas, Miranda, el Páramo, Falcon, Yaracuy, Yumare, and Trujillo and the districts of Maturin, Los Teques, El Jari, Churuguara and Sierra de San Luis. These groups and individuals are supervised by the Hezbollah Organization in Venezuela, along with al-Qaeda Iraqis currently living in the country and by the Palestinian Democratic Front, headed by Salid Ahmed Rahman, whose office is located in Caracas’s Central Park.

Desde que Chávez asumió la presidencia, el Hezbollah, el Hamas y Al-Qaeda han utilizado a Venezuela como trampolín para llegar a otros países Latino Americanos. Hay información de que un grupo de activistas iraquíes pertenecientes a Al-Qaeda se encuentra actualmente en Caracas. Se trata de: Mohammed Adnan Yasin, Falh Ami Taha y Muhi Alwan Mohammed Al Qaisi.
Todos llegaron a Caracas con visas temporales otorgadas y aprobadas por los jefes de Onidex (Cabezas y El Aissami) y se supone que son sumamente peligrosos. Ellos supervisan las actividades de estas organizaciones terroristas en la región tri-fronteriza, así como en Nicaragua y Argentina.

Since Chavez assumed the Presidency, Hezbollah, Hamas and al-Qaeda have used Venezuela as their bridge to other Latin American countries. There is information that a group of Iraqi activists belonging to al-Qaeda are currently in Caracas. Their names are: Mohammed Adnan Yasin, Falah Amin Taha and Muhi Alwan Mohammed Al Qaisi. They all arrived in Caracas with temporary visas granted and approved by the heads of Onidex (Cabezas and Aissami) and are believed to be very dangerous. They oversee the activities of these terrorist organizations in the tri – border region, and in Nicaragua and Argentina.

Otros miembros del Hezbollah en Venezuela, con este mismo tipo de visas son: el libanés experto en explosivos Abdul Ghani Suleiman Wanked, la mano derecha de Hassan Nasrallah; Rada Ramel Assad, nacido en Barranquilla, Colombia y Abouchanab Daichoum Dani, quien organiza el grupo.

Other Hezbollah members in Venezuela with these same visas are: explosives expert Lebanese Abdul Ghani Suleiman Wanked, Hassan Nasrallah’s right-hand man.; Rada Ramel Assad, born in Barranquilla, Colombia and Abouchanab Daichoum Dani who is the organizer of the group.

Debemos estar muy alertas sobre lo que sucede en Venezuela. Los medios independientes han alertado que el régimen de Chávez ha estado emitiendo documentos de identidad a los radicales islámicos, lo cual les permite operar y desplazarse con libertad hacia otros países. Resulta sumamente preocupante y peligroso que un radical como lo es El Aissami sea el encargado de emitir cédulas de identidad y pasaportes, ya que con ello se logran las metas de los presidentes de Irán y de Venezuela en su esfuerzo mancomunado para radicalizar y crear redes terroristas en la región.

We have to be very careful about what is going on in Venezuela. Independent media outlets have warned that the Chávez regime was issuing ID documents to Islamic radicals, enabling them to operate and move freely to other countries. It is extremely worrisome and dangerous to appoint a radical such as Aissami as the official in charge of issuing identity cards and passports but this serves the goals of the Iranian and Venezuelan presidents in their joint efforts to radicalize the region and build terrorist networks.
